Video production for Meta in Peru

We handled the entire local production of this branded content piece for our friends at the U.S.-based production company Peoples’TV and JZB, Meta’s agency in the United States.

This video is part of the series “Dev Diaries: Stories from Inspiring Women Developers,” which was filmed across five countries: the United States, Ireland, Germany, India, and Peru.

In Peru, the video game developer chosen to share her story was Sol Sánchez, co-founder of Somber Pixel, an independent video game studio. Sol is a young computer engineer who is helping lead the development of video games in Peru, a traditionally male-dominated industry. This inspired her to found FemDevsPerú, a community that seeks to encourage and promote greater participation by women in the video game industry.

At Maia Films, we took care of the entire local production so Sol could tell her story—from securing the location to assembling the film crew for Kam and Sean, the director and director of photography, who traveled to Lima to shoot the piece.

Of course, getting the opportunity to work with Meta was not easy. We went through several stages of a highly demanding vendor selection and approval process, but ultimately met every requirement and were chosen as the Peruvian production company for this international project.
